1. Angiofibromas are usually characterized by their occurences in adolescent males with a typical localization and involvement of the posterior nasal cavity and nasopharynx.

Angiofibrome sind klinisch durch ihre Manifestation bei Männern im Jugendalter und der Entstehung im laterobasalen Abschnitt der Nasenhöhle im Bereich des Foramen sphenopalatinum gekennzeichnet.

Die Differenzialdiagnose umfasst neben infektbedingten Adenoidhyperplasien, Zilienfunktionsstörungen, chronischen Rhinosinusitiden und kraniofazialen Fehlbildungen auch den gastroösophagealen Reflux, Tumoren, Zustand nach Tumortherapien im Nasenrachenraum sowie insbesondere Allergien.

4. Bacteria attached to epithelial cells in mucus and cell scrapings obtained from the nasopharynx in children undergoing adenoidectomy appear rather monomorphic under the microscope, and for this reason it is not possible to identify different species.

Im Schleim und in Abstrichen aus dem Nasenrachenraum von Kindern, denen eine Adenotomie bevorstand, wurden an Epithelzellen haftende Bakterien gefunden. Diese Bakterien erschienen mikroskopisch ziemlich monomorph, daher war es nicht möglich, die verschiedenen Arten voneinander zu unterscheiden.
